I don't know if this is applicable but it may be. Or if the community has already applied elsewhere (one per community) Deadline is end of September.

There's a lot of confusion about AI and lesson planning.
There's a lot of confusion about AI and lesson planning.
There's a lot of confusion about AI and lesson planning. Here's a super simple strategy (that I use every day): My AI lesson planning revolves around this principle. AI is great at tasks but bad at jobs. What's the difference between tasks and jobs? A "job" is the whole thing you’re trying to do. Each job is made up of "tasks" - the little steps within the job. Moving through the planing process task by task is the best way to ensure you create high-quality, relevant resources. These are the tasks I do to complete to plan my lesson:  - Engaging hook - Direct instruction content - Reading/video on the topic - Differentiate the reading - Retrieval practice questions - Sentence starters for writing - Closing discussion questions When I use AI to plan my lessons, I go one task at a time. This is the first prompt I use with ChatGPT (Role) You are an expert [INSERT SUBJECT] teacher. (Task) Help me create a lesson plan step-by-step. I will ask for various resources. Every time I ask you for something, give me 3 versions of that thing. I will choose the best one and we will continue to plan from there. Start by giving me 3 lesson hooks for a lesson on [INSERT TOPIC]. (Format) Give me the resources I ask for at [INSERT READING LEVEL]. I start choosing the best hook of the 3 provided. Then I go step-by-step and build the resources I need. Now, using AI, in just a matter of minutes we can create lessons that are - Pedagogically rich - Well resourced - Ready to teach Give it a try and let me know how you go! P.S. Any other AI lesson planning tips you could share? Let me know! | 128 comments on LinkedIn

Over the last months, I have been involved in a number of deep discussions with higher education practitioners about the future of AI, some of these organised with colleagues at the European University Association others in the European Digital Education Hub guided by SURF futurist Gül Akcaova. Trends Shaping Education 2025
Trends Shaping Education 2025
Did you ever wonder how rising inequality and polarisation will shape education? Or how advances in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other technologies could transform teaching and learning?Trends Shaping Education is a triennial report exploring the social, technological, economic, environmental and political forces transforming education systems worldwide. The trends are robust, but the questions raised in this report are suggestive. They are designed to inspire reflection and inform strategic thinking on how global trends might transform education and how education can shape a better future. The 2025 edition explores a rich array of topics related to the key themes of global conflict and cooperation, work and progress, voices and storytelling, and bodies and minds. It builds on foresight exercises from previous editions, while introducing a range of new futures thinking tools to inspire reflection and action. This report is designed to give policy makers, researchers, educational leaders, administrators and teachers a robust, non-specialist source of international comparative trends shaping education, whether in early childhood education and care, schools, universities or in programmes for older adults. It will also be of interest to students, parents and anyone curious about how education can address today’s challenges and prepare for the future.

How SIFT Toolbox helps chatbots with fact-checking
How SIFT Toolbox helps chatbots with fact-checking
It's not often I get really excited about a new prompt. This one gives me hope that chatbots can be used in support of information literacy and a concern for truth. It highlights how a chatbot that can browse can assist us in sifting through competing claims from vetted sources to get perspective on a claim. With his prompt, Mike Caulfield illustrates the principles in his recent The Atlantic article. He explains, "SIFT Toolbox is a lengthy instruction prompt...You paste it in at the beginning of a chat session... With the prompt in place, your LLM will come to better conclusions, hallucinate less, and source conflicting perspectives more systematically. It also models an approach that is less chatbot, and more research assistant in a way that is appropriate for student researchers, who can use it to aid research while coming to their own conclusions." Go to the website https://lnkd.in/gYBvdSA4 and copy all the text in that tiny little box on the right. Paste it into Claude (free version is okay). Then, give it a claim, any claim. Maybe one you hear a lot and question. I tried "Exposure to a big change in temperature like a sudden cold snap can make someone more likely to catch a cold" because I've long wondered if there was anything to that. Here's the result: https://lnkd.in/g--mWnfy #informationliteracy #digitalliteracy #factchecking #ailiteracy #LLMs #chatbots #CCCAILearn | 18 comments on LinkedIn

Higher Technical Education in England, United Kingdom
Higher Technical Education in England, United Kingdom
A system of higher-level vocational courses can equip young people and adults with the advanced skills that employers are looking for in modern and dynamic labour markets. In England (United Kingdom), these courses are collectively known as Higher Technical Education (HTE), classified at level 5 in the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED). In recent years, English HTE has struggled with its identity, scope, and esteem, as previous attention brought academic higher education to the masses. This report supports ongoing reform efforts by comparing England's HTE system with successful models in Austria, Canada (Ontario), Denmark, France, and Sweden. It underlines the importance of a coherent educational vision supported by quality governance and strong employer engagement. Flexible and responsive educational programmes delivered by providers with a clear objective on HTE are essential. By learning from these countries, England can create a robust policy framework and foster collaborations to ensure the success of its HTE reforms.
